In this study, two experiments were conducted with bipolar junction transistor(BJT). BJT is a currently widely used element, so it’s essential to know what it is as an engineer. Through this study, it would be able to understand the behavior of the BJT as an amplifier and a switch and main three states: cut-off, active-linear, and saturation region. In first experiment, collector current was measured along different base current and voltage applied between collector and emitter. Then current gain was calculated as the ratio of collector to base current. From these procedures, you can analyze active-linear of the BJT and grasp that BJT can act as an amplifier. However, there were some differences between theoretical and actual conditions for active-linear region. The difference was observed because of incorrect measurement of voltage and wrong assumptions that the BJT is ideal. Considering correct measurement and actual conditions in the next experiment, more reliable results can be obtained.
